Tanja Taglietti

Profile, shadow and scale informs my work. The interplay between these are condensed into micro sculptural forms. When sitting off the body they play with  other surfaces and form shadows and I can imagine them inhabiting public spaces.

My childhood was immersed in drawings, strong and beautiful. Drawings that evolved over time into voids and volumes. Volumes waiting to be discovered and explored, transformed by the deliberate solar play of light and shadows within. This childhood playground where lines inhabited an intimately monumental scale and time changed the connections between line, shadow and their voids inspires all my work. I do not see my work as growing old but as acquiring new connections with familiar spaces.
